  A nice location, beautiful evening patio, and best of all $5.00 handles of beer. Very inviting place that always seems to have customers around. We didn't try the menu, just took advantage of the well-priced beverages, but the only thing keeping 1876 from a 5-star in my opinion (from our experience) was the attitude of one of the bartenders who served us. I'm not sure if I've been served by someone with less enthusiasm - she wouldn't even look at us when we asked which beers were $5.00/handle. After an exasperated sign she slowly recited the prices and served us we. Thankfully she must have went for a break twenty minutes later, and the next server was extremely friendly and happy to serve us. Overall a great place to stop for a beer - but hope you get the friendly bartender!

  Ate here while waiting for friends and was pleasantly surprised by how good it was. On top of that it was one of the cheaper places in town for a beer, double bonus. The staff were friendly and there is plenty outside seating with large tables people seem happy to share. I def recommended a visit.

  When we first got to Queenstown we stopped at one of the restaurants on the water - nice patio, but way too pricey! $10 for a beer is a little ridiculous. We looked up this place, and went over for the Wednesday night steak special. Nachos, two steak dinners, and 4 drinks came in well under $100. Really cool looking old building with a nice patio, food was great! Walk in up to the bar to order food and they'll bring it to your table; servers don't take food orders from tables (at least not on the patio). We recommended it to a couple other people we met, and would absolutely go back! Great value!

  Seriously, The BEST burger we have eaten in NZ, and quite honestly, ever before. We've traveled through the country, top to bottom, trying a burger at nearly every city we stay in. This one was by far the most amazing experience we've had. Bravo! I have no idea how they put this burger together, its got just the right kick of spices, the onion was grilled to perfection. The bun is a toasted Turkish bap that seemed to be glazed with butter, garlic and herbs. Both, the cheddar and blue cheese options were phenomenal. I honestly can't remember another burger that blew my mind like this one. I need the recipe please! I think we came in at just the right time, there was no rush at the bar, we had a seat in seconds, the staff was friendly, and the cook(s) did a fantastic job. Absolute Perfection.
