Dorm beds are decent. Kitchen was equipped with utensils and some free food. Our food hanged on the fall was probably stolen on our last day of stay even though we've labelled but that's alright as there weren't much food left. Toilets are clean however bathrooms cleanliness might need to be improved. Free wifi access are only available from 7am till 7pm, and it's only accessible around reception and common area. Got a voucher for a free drink in the bar next door for the stay in Sanctuary Female Dorm which also comes with free hairdryer usage.

Booked for an 18 men room but I believed due to our late check in, we were given an 8 men room instead - thus the spaciousness. Room and bathrooms were clean, and we were able to store our luggage till the time we needed (2pm). Staff were able to provide us the information we needed too. Value for money

A standard high capacity hostel, no thrills. Showers and toilets are clean enough alongside rooms. Very loud bar next door which can be an issue dependant on where you are. Some rooms do not have windows and can be very stuffy at night with near zero air circulation. Either way its cheap and just about value for money.

Good location, central to everything. We had a private room which was clean and comfortable. Also had a nice view over the city. Bathrooms were typical for hostel and breakfast was good. Great place to stay if in Auckland on a budget

Obviously base is a high capacity hostel. And with that brings a lack of accountability to its guests. Its a party hostel no matter how you cut it. Because it's a high capacity hostel it means that they have more rooms available when better hostels are booked up. The rooms in the upper floors have adequate air con. The lower floors do not. The key card system works off sheer will power and the three super small elevators just don't cut it. The staff there is friendly. And the location is great for Auckland. But since the hostel is so large it's always dirty and smelly.
