So disappointed with this place. I’m new to the area. I first went to Bin Inn about 2 weeks ago. I was so impressed I could buy what I wanted in the quantities I wanted and save on plastic waste. I was curious about their prices though. I had a bad experience in the supermarkets – I expected the bulk bins to be cheaper than the same items packaged on the shelf but it wasn’t the case. I asked one of Bin Inn’s loyal customers if she liked the shop? She was gushing with praise. When I asked her about their prices and told her my previous bulk bin experience she said that Bin Inn are the cheapest you’ll find anywhere. This was confirmed by one of their staff when I paid. She said they even undercut PaknSave. Very excited but still a little sceptical they could undercut the buying power of the big corporate supermarkets I began to collect prices. I went in Bin Inn again today to confirm them and sadly they are not as competitive as they led me to believe. Plain flour was $1.10 per kg in P&S while in Bin Inn it was $2.30 per kg (that’s over twice the price) Granulated sugar was $1.90 per kg in P&S while in Bin Inn it was $2.30 per kg I won’t bore you with the rest of the comparisons but needless to say there is a mark up at Bin Inn. I know it’s convenient for out-of-towners and it saves all the plastic waste but at the moment it’s my Kiwi buck that has final say. Because Bin Inn is usually very empty I’m guessing it’s the same with most of the rest of us too!

Excellent service. Almost everything I use in my pantry and baking cupboard can be found here and if you bring your own containers you get 5% off the already great prices. Plus by using your own containers it cuts down on rubbish going into our land fills!

Jan and Tim do an incredible job at Bin Inn Kamo. If they don't have it, they'll get it fast and without fuss. Fantastic prices.
