Nice gradual walk to an amazing view of sunny Nelson easy enough for all ages and plenty of options for different tracks we had a nice picnic at the top!!

So the walk is definitely 20 minutes if you choose the shorter walking track (solid yellow). It’s not particularly easy, in fact quite steep. You may want a breather halfway up but there are a few benches on the way so that should be fine. Not a lot at the top, a thing to read and a Trig point, but the view is amazing and would be better on a clear evening for the sunset. Not actually the geographical centre but central in relation the the regions. All in all a good walk. β›…οΈπŸ‘πŸ‘Œ

I'm more of a biker than a walker. Nice walk. Very international crowd. People were really friendly. But of a queue for iconic selfies... But really. Great view.

This is the centre of New Zealand and it is a lovely walk with excellent views over Nelson. There are multiple tracks that can be taken to get to the top, each one of them winding their way up through native trees. The most direct route takes about 10 to 15 minutes but there are easier options that can take around 20 minutes. Once at the top you can look out over Tasman Bay and toward the Southern Alps and out to the Abel Tasman national park. If you are visiting Nelson this really is a must do.

Road side free parking around the Botanical Sports field and then a 20 minute walk up to the trig point. The path is well formed, gravel at first but tarmac near the top. Well sign posted so you can't get lost. Great views from the top.
