I just called the Christchurch police line to report a lost item. It rang for 5 minutes. I was waiting for an answering message such as "please continue to hold", or music, or something similar that most large call centres have. I assumed the police would need something like that as it would be a busy line. I tried again, finally a lady answered. I asked to report a lost item, she replied in short snappy tone " we don't have anything for that", I said " I am sure you have a lost and found, it says it on the website", she said "where are you" I said "christchurch" "Oh well I am in dunedin, you are calling dunedin, after the EQ there is no police to answer phones, so you will have to go and look in a box".....in a really disgruntled manner like I was wasting her time. Unbelievable that the Chch police cannot have a polite informed admin on their phones. Really really helpful for everyone and elderly who cannot use computers and need to talk to someone about any issues involving safety, crime, stolen property etc. SORT IT OUT CHCH POLICE

Had to call regarding a lost drivers license, the initial phone call took about 1-2 minutes to be put through but I found the staff very helpful and efficient. Especially considering I was calling for such a minor, mundane thing.

The most obnoxious people I've ever dealt with in my life. Went in to simply get my son's passport application signed and they point blank refused. It clearly states that a police officer can sign the form but they were having none of it. Rude, horrible, ignorant. Not enough words to describe them scumbags
