  Not bad for a small town outlet. Major outlet franchises need to eliminate the sale of individually plastic wrapped food items like corn on the cob and apple slices. No use in losing plastic shopping bags if this continues.

  Very slow service in a busy store. Only a few checks open in a busy lunch hour. Also while in queue at 1pm, staff are swapping over lunch hours, I would have thought maybe prior to lunch staff are put on checkouts to cover the time from 12 - 2. Come on countdown don't lose the plot for customer service.

  Friendly staff and wide range of good but the last 3 times we have bought meat from here it has been off

  Great supermarket for all your shopping with plenty of savings to be made. Countdown stock the complete range of foodstuffs you would expect along with a big selection of soft and alcoholic drinks including a huge selection of quality wines to choose from. There is a large range of fresh fruit and vegetables with a good section of fruit juices. The bakery section sells a variety of bread and rolls to suit everybody's taste. The usual domestic products are on display and it's easy to find what you are looking for. A good place to shop in Gisbourne. The staff are friendly and helpful.
