Quiet @ 8.55am. It's next to ANZ & McD. Lots of picnic benches to relax & an overhead projector showing latest movies. Up the escalator is a Cinema to catch latest movies around the world.

There isn't a lot here any more. It is such a great building, hopefully you fix the rest of the earthquake damage and get up and running soon.

Been there for a movie, less price snd comfortable seating.. even handed over our flight luggage to one of the worker at that place, got them back safe... wouldn't say that it is better than many other shopping malls where there are many to shop and see, but still it is good and spacious

Courtnay Central? Love the new lookout that encourages relaxation and has a courtyard feeling even if fresh air does not waft through. Interesting concept of a fake lawn inside. Wee food places a bit of a mix but the best is Hop Garden. Try their Poutine, chips with gravy and grated cheese. Great comfort food and hits the spot. Watch them use a mini flame thrower to make sure the cheese is melted, lol

Since reopening after the November 2016 earthquake, the food court at Courtenay Central has been transformed into a really cool community space, with recharging stations for devices along one wall, lots of tables with forms for seating, and a really nice feel. Some won't like it, but I LOVE the way the community has taken over the space and made it their own. Live music is here occasionally. There are fewer shops and food outlets than there used to be, but the atmosphere and sense of space makes up for it. Oh, and there's Reading Cinema upstairs, with the Steer and Beer bar.
