  This dental clinic did poor work on my teeth. Dr James, a co-owner and dentist acknowledged the work was 'not done properly' by their head butcher 'Elvira' and that this is why he was having to work on me - because the majority of my fillings done had not been 'done properly'. After having half of them fixed, it was noticed one of the teeth which had poor filling work done to it now had an abscessd root. They at first totally denied this was due to their poor work - but the next day when getting the other fillings fixed, he offered 'to keep me happy' and 'sort this tooth out but that I can't keep coming back for every future problem', insinuating they would do the root canal for free. I was happy about this although unhappy to be put in this situation. Then I get an email from GAVIN their clinic manager, telling me they refuse to do any work and if I call them or go to their premise then the cops would be called. This based on 'abusing staff' which refers to a phone call I made months previously about the poor work - which simply had a few swear words in my dialogue but was not abusing or intending to hurt or threaten. This establishment is disgusting and they have tried to get out of righting their wrong. Good thing for me I recorded both visits with Dr James on my phone, and my phone automatically records all my calls(ACR is the app, get it!). I'll be taking these guys to the disputes tribunal. I tried very hard to reach some kind of agreement with these scumbags but they made it very clear they are only willing to refund the filling, not the thousands dollars+ of damage it very clearly caused me. It is common knowledge in dental world that poorly done fillings can lead to abscesses roots which then require root canal. I highly suggest against going to this place. It's all a show. Fancy new equipment but they screw you. They didn't tell me anything and kept me in the dark when doing all the work. Compared to my new dentist that makes you aware of everything and runs down any other preventative options to keep your smile healthy - these guys don't want you to be healthy, they want your money and will do dodgy work so you have to get more done. They aren't even cheaper than elsewhere. They have nothing going for them except their image.

  I would not recommend this Dentists company to any of my friends and family. I was told that they are very good company so went to them to get all my teeth out but they butchered my teeth and ripped my gums as they took my teeth out side ways as well as drilling in to the bone and not straight up and out i am still getting bits of bone coming out of my gums so all up it is costing me $6,000.00 so I had to pay a deposit of $200.00 so I am still not happy with the service that I received and I was told it will cost me between $1,000.00 to $3,500.00 over the phone. I phoned them to say that I am not happy and I am not paying for the work that was done to my mouth they told me that I still have to pay so I told them even though you people butchered my gums I still have to pay they said yes as the work was done. So people please read the reviews before going to DentalCare West, 182 W Coast Rd, Glen Eden, Auckland 0641

  My recent visit to this clinic was the worst dental experience in my life. Doctor Elvira is absolutely unprofessional specialist! First of all, she could not differentiate the problem tooth from healthy one. Secondly, she treated the absolutely normal tooth and put filling in it. It looks like she just wants to make money rather than helping people. The treating price was $350 - quite huge for normal tooth, isn't it? I STRONGLY DO NOT recommend this "doctor", however clinic itself was ok : nice receptionist, helpful dentist assistant, good facilities. In conclusion, I have mutilated tooth, minus $350 and completely disappointed.

  I saw the Dentist and Hygienist at Dentalcare West, and had a great experience. They were professional and empathetic, and their rooms were really nice and clean, they were also much more reasonably priced than other dentists, and have convenient hours. I'll be going back.
