So took my vehicle into the above Testing Station this morning, to get her a warrant. Usually, she passes with flying colours, until this time round. Now, I've heard from others, that there is a guy there who won't issue warrants due to seat-belts not working; even if the colour of the belt is faded (which was my mother-inlaw, and she was driving a Camry; 1 year out of the local Car dealers). Thought they were joking until this morning. My vehicle passed everything else except "Drivers seat belt to operate when vehicle is moving" unquote I queried this, and the guy was standing there arguing that he tried it six times, that the belt wouldn't work. I also asked what would happen if I took my vehicle to the VTNZ just around the corner, and he just kept saying "The belt just doesn't work mate!!". So I jumped into my vehicle, drove round the corner and paid another $49.00 at VTNZ, to get a warrant. Guess what? She passed!! I told the guy THERE about what happened round the corner, got him to yank the crap out of my driver's seat belt. And guess what again? She wouldn't budge!! Seat belt fine AND in working order!! So drove back to the Testing Station and showed both forms to the poor woman behind the counter. One (theirs) failing my vehicle due to a failed seat belt, and one (VTNZ), showing that my vehicle was issued a warrant. She went to speak to the idiot in question, and this guy is still saying that the seat belt failed, even adding that he got someone else to check it too. Now I always watch when either mine or my wife's vehicles go in, so all I saw was only this guy dealing with the interior; no-one else. Now it's a my say and an issued warrant against him and some-one else? WTF? It's not about the money, it's about why is this Testing Station failing vehicles, when the VTNZ around the corner is finding no faults at all; and issuing those so-called failed vehicles warrants?. Maybe it's not the vehicles at all, maybe it's the person checking the vehicle themselves! This guy who wrote his name down as TJKM, needs to be reviewed. For both his vehicle tesing skills and his customer service. This idiot has not only brought in disrepute to himself, but also, all the other poor people working alongside this guy. My advice to all locals in Gisborne, have your vehicle warranted at the VTNZ instead, as they are a well-known and a verified reputable Vehicle Testing Station nationally. Shame on you Gisborne Vehicle Testing Station, SHAME ON YOU!! VERY POOR SERVICE
