We visited her on holiday and whilst it was a fantastic experience in a very well presented gallery we did feel that much of the artwork was on loan and absent. Would have loved to have seen a more comprehensive collection.

Interesting architecture doesn't do much to fill the void of vague and ill exhibited art. Big Bang Theory and Convolutions were the only ones worth the visit. The rest seems as though someone wondered through and left odd bits and bobs dotted about the place.

A must visit when in New Plymouth. You will be introduced to works you didn't even know you wanted to be introduced to! Take time to explore movies, moving art genius and installations. But dont look at the shop, because it is extremely tempting and your wallet is in danger. Please give this gem of a place a small donation. Its worth it.

The exhibits change fairly regularly and range from ok to amazing. Most are amazing and I can see why people travel around the world to see it. Check out what’s on before visiting. The kinetic works are by far the best, in my opinion, for what that’s worth. The building itself is a piece of art, so even if the exhibit at 5e time isn’t what you’re into, the building is still a sight to behold ! Like any art gallery, this one is largely dependent on the quality of the current exhibit, but they are mostly world class.

Even though there is nothing much to see apart from some thought provoking photographs and paintings. But full marks to the architecture. Its absolutely stunning and astonishing. Situated right in the heart of New Plymouth and next to the clock tower. Could be easily be the iconic building of the town. Definitely worth checking out this museum.
