They take way too long for people who are in the emergency, my mum had a pain in the area she had a surgery and we’ve been waiting in the emergency room for 3 hours . On the wall they have a poster saying the order of patients is by their illness, and sickness, and for someone who had a surgery and is feeling pain where she had a surgery done that’s something serious . They’re going to make us wait until someone is dead . This needs to be fixed . I understand there are doctors and nurses that are off work , having a break and so but their job is for helping people , if there’s a lot of people in the emergency room then it’s their job to quickly get all of them treated .

Kia ora I am from Tauranga and my sister is currently in the birthing unit of Rotorua hospital. Unfortunately I have no idea where the building is and when i looked up the map i was unable to find a plan of the layout. So i took the directions of the sign birthing unit and parked my vehicle outside where it says bithing unit. Being in an unfamiliar enviroment is a bit daunting. So i walked towards the area ambulance bay and a sign clearly stating go to main entrance. When i looked around there are no signs saying main entrance and no arrows pointing to the direction of main entrance. So i pushed the button on the door of the ambulance bay which states birthing unit explained who i was and who i was there to see and where i have come from. A nice lady, not too sure what she was mabey a hca maybe a rn let me in though her facial expression clearly looked annoyed rather than welcoming. My father and I were ready to leave and my concern is being culturally sensitive to those who are unfamilliar of the hospital. My father and I parked in the same area however the nurse or midwife that was taking care of my sister pushed us towards the main entrance. My father has an ulcer underneath his foot so we walked right around from birthing unit to main entrance right back around to where we originally were. I am upset as i feel we were mistreated and not respected. It would been nice if they had let us out where our vehicles were then explained to us next time you come back please park by the main entrance and come through that way. So pissed me off to see my father struggling up the hill which he walks like he got the gout. That was stink as I thought being Rotorua they would be more culturally sensitive to Maori in particular. The care that i saw regarding my sister was really good but to the whanau was not equally the same. Upsetting.

Prehip operation Interviews. I'm not a fan of hospitals except when visiting others BUT my visit was amazing. Everyone of the team I met was so helpful making sure that I understood everything. So filling forms, wait ing, blood samples, x-ray and final interview with Sharon just do good. The operation comes next. Thanks team RotoHos! You get our PLUS! Right so now I'm there and had my replacement 12.08.17 taking 2hrs with 1hr in recovery. Surgeon advised the were no surprises other than the fact the thickness of my bones was greater than usual. I stood and turned 360deg with help of walker yesterday but the effort proved too much. Disappointed I tried again today with the same result. That is emotionally disappointing but I'm working on strengthening my butt.
