Friday night we walked in and atill able to get a table. Very attentive staff! Fast service and delicious food. Didn't need dessert, portions were massive. Had fries for starters and the garlic aioli was to die for. Our mains were steak and were cooked to perfection. Will be back to try more menu items! Definitely recommend :)

Wait staff tried to be helpful but the chef's only offer when I explained that I am allergic to garlic was too give me a piece of pan fried fish, chips and a salad with dressing on that I couldn't eat cause I want sure what was in it. Also they put garlic in their tartare sauce so I asked for mayo instead. Apparently they had run out, um a chef can make mayo. Felt like they didn't care at all. $29 later... Overpriced and disappointed. Creme brulee was good but cheesecake mediocre.

We have had lovely meals tonight, our steaks were cooked perfectly and so was the venison, our waitress and the manager were really great, the food came out in good time. One of our group had a birthday today, so they were asked if they wanted to pick a free cocktail (of their choice) and also got a free desert with a candle in it. This made the evening more special. I will definitely recommend Lone Star to all my friends.

We decided to spend our American Thanksgiving in NZ Texas style. I started off with a yummy mojito in a tall skinny glass (made correctly mind you). We both had a sirloin steak with Jack Daniel's and peppercorn steak sauce (to die for) and an amazing coleslaw side. Ended up with a yummy mousse consistency cheesecake (We struggled with ordering that or a Jack Daniel's fudge pudding). Definitely worth the stop if you are craving Texas style food. FYI: for steak lovers who like it as we say good and red or rare plus, skip medium rare as it is pinkish and tender, but more on the med side, ask for rare...that is advice we found out for any NZ restaurant. Enjoy!
