  Very expensive mistake!! I have taken a brand new Peacoat and a brand new pair of trousers into Looksmart Hamilton Chartwell branch for some alteration. I have decided to use your company because of your 110% money guarantee program listed on your website, and good ratings on google. I took the items in on the Sunday 6th of August to get both items shortened both by approximately two cms. I had been wondering about how the work would be carried out on the sleeves of the pea coat as there were details on the buttons on the end of each sleeve. So I specifically asked the staff if they were going to shorten it from the top of the sleeves next to the shoulders, the stuff replied "no no the holes are stitched on we can just take them off " then she assured me "they would look the same." I picked them up the next day without giving it much thoughts in full confidence of the LookSmart brand and it was close to the closing time of the shop. it was not until when I got home, I realized that the mock button hole details are gone, and a completely different thread does the stitching. The stitching on the pants where the work was carried out is patchy and not to the same standards as to the rest of the pants. I took the items back on Tuesday afternoon wanting to get a refund the day after. However, i was assured by another shop staff that they would sort out the problems and the items would be ready to collect by Thursday. She even promised that they could stitch back the mock button holes and change the stitching on the sleeves to match the original. the manager of the region, contacted me on the phone on Wednesday to ensure that she would make sure that the items will be up to my standards when they are ready. On Thursday, the regional manager informed me that she had looked at both items, and both items are done perfectly to LookSmart's standards. But I told her the items are not to the same standards before the work was carried out and I was not informed that they would take out the mock button holes with out putting them back. She denied my statement and insisted that I was explained in detailed that they would take out the mock button holes and she completely ignored the quality difference of the work carried by look smart, and the items original standards. The manager assured me that she was satisfied with the quality of the work and I couldn't find any one else that would do the job any different, has refused to do rework on the item, stating that there is only one company in New Zealand that would stick back these holes and i would have to wait for tree weeks and it will be at my expense. refuse to refund me unless I can provide a statement from a different company stating that the work Looksmart carried out my garments is unacceptable. I was shocked by her response and was very disappointed by the expectations I had for Looksmart as a brand. The inconsistency of their stories and the failure to keep their promise as advertised on their website. I know different people would have different expectations on quality, if you have purchased a luxury item i would advice avoiding this company at all cost!!
