Mayur is now Tamarind. They claim to be doing authentic Kerala Cusine. I've been in Kerala for more than a year and didn't find the Cusine close to authentic Kerala one. I tried the lunch though. Except 2 new items all other items are from their previous menu. Haven't tried their dinner menu yet. This place is not pocket friendly.

We have just left Mayur, now Tamarind and I feel like if I was wearing a belt I would have to undo it! They have an amazing range of vegetarian and gluten free items and are very clearly family run. We enjoyed seeing that there was more than just curry on the menu and we both loved our food (mushroom and duck). It was a great evening, the food was amazing and the staff are extremely friendly and kind! I would come here often if we were staying in Christchurch! :)

Extremely yummy food, went as a big group and we all really enjoyed it. Everyone hands down said they had the best naan bread they had ever had. 100% will go back again.

Lunch special great and takeaways good. Found eating in better value and quality. Parking limited at rear and front. Mall parking easiest. Clean toilets.

My experience here was absolutely amazing. I was paying for dinner as it was my partners birthday and we couldn't have asked for a better dining experience. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, the food was well proportioned, presented and incredibly well spiced (and I can hardly stand too much pepper!). My partner is one for spice that can burn his mouth out and the staff were so respectful of my spice needs and his. We left incredibly satisfied having a drink, starter, mains and desserts each but we weren't overly full thanks to the portion sizes. It is a little expensive but you are paying for everything and honestly, everything considered, I would have been more than happy to pay more. We will be dining here again in the near future.
