Good food, plenty of it, helpful attentive staff all at a great price. Kids cost their age, so cheap. Clean.

What a lovely modern club, very well managed with heaps of fun events for members, and visitors are always welcome. Situated right on NZ's No. 1 beach. Live entertainment throughout summer. Tournaments, prize nights, quiz and cards, dart and snooker comps, golf and fishing events. Bistro to Fine Dining, it has everything for you and your family. A must visit or join as a member and enjoy the locals friendly club comradely.

Jedzenie może być ok. Jeśli chcesz napić się tu alkocholu musisz zapisać się do klubu co kosztuje 10 dolarów. Jedyne miejsce w Ohope gdzie podano jedzenie po 21:00

We were in Ohope for an evening and were looking for dinner. Our tour guide on the White Island Tour had suggested the Ohope Chartered Club. We decided to eat in the less formal bar area downstairs. Firstly, the woman at the bar was extremely unfriendly. We understood that it was a "club" but she explained to us, as if we were five years old, and reminded us, VERY RUDELY, that if we were caught coming in the place again that we would be in trouble because we were only allowed to use a guest pass once. Wow. If I had thought about coming back to Ohope again, you can be sure I won't choose this place to eat a second time. I was shocked because I had never encountered that type of encounter at a restaurant before in New Zealand. On top of the rudeness, I ordered the seafood platter. EVERYTHING was deep fried. It was disgusting. I paid $23 to eat primarily batter. And, I'm assuming that none of the seafood was remotely fresh. Definitely not worth it. My suggestion: drive to Whakatane to find somewhere to eat.
