  Partridge Jewellers Queen Street have a great range of watches and are well located. Unfortunately, that is where the positives end and the negatives begin for my experiences in this specific outlet of this store. I have been in store twice in the past 6 months, both times there were staff who were not attending to customers. The first time, I was completely ignored by staff and not approached at any time. The second time, a concierge did ask if I required assistance. I indicated I did. I showed my original Oris Ortelier watch (thinking that perhaps this would make them realise I am a genuine potential customer) to the staff member (a middle aged Asian lady) and asked if they had anything similar - I am a big fan of automatic movement skeleton watches. She promptly pointed to the stairs and said "we have two up there, you can have a look for yourself" and walked off to do a whole lot of nothing with watches down the back of the store. The lack of service in a luxury goods store I found below standard. On both visits, I have observed people of Asian decent being very well looked after, with staff taking the time to take them around the entire store and showing them the full in store range. Most of their salespeople are also of Chinese decent, which makes it very clear who they are interested in dealing with. I have to say, I felt very much ignored because I am a white man and was not dressed how you would expect someone of wealth to be dressed - I do not like to be "up sold" with pressure so I specifically dress this way when shopping. It was quite clear they profile their customers based on ethnicity and appearance, and provide a high or no level of service accordingly. I will continue buying my jeweler and watches from abroad, and will not return to this store. Perhaps they can find "genuine" Asian buyers to make up for their clear disdain for non-Asian customers, but even the golden goose stops laying the egg someday and if you do not have alternative markets then be prepared to fall on your own sword in shame.

  Richard, the rep was knowledgeable and knew what he was talking about. Patient with excellent service. Salesrep with his calibre is difficult to come across nowadays. Excellent!
