  We visited the Lambton Quay store early January and were really disappointed with the customer service we received. No-one greeted us until we had been in the store for more than 5mins. There were 4-5 staff member in store at the time and only one customer. One staff member was on his phone at the same counter where we were looking at rings. to be fair I think he was messaging a customer as he took a photo of a ring but it wouldn't have hurt to say that or find someone to help us. When a lady did eventually greet is and we told her we were looking for an oval engagement ring she didn't even say Congratulations. I feel like if you work at a jewellers this should be the very very basic level of service that you give to a recently engaged couple. It was a very exciting day for us and dampened by the fact that the staff in store couldn't have been less excited for us. The lady got my name and number and just wrote down 'Oval diamond' on a sheet of paper. The next day she emailed us through the characteristics of two diamonds but because she hadn't taken the time with us these two diamonds didn't meet our brief at all. We ended up deciding to go with The Village Goldsmith as their customer service was exceptional (welcomed as soon as we entered the store, genuine excitement for us, they actually sat us down to talk through the characteristics of diamonds, sent us details [and videos!] of diamonds that fit our brief, sent us CAD drawings of the ring, gave us a free cleaning kit, the final ring was beautifully crafted and presented in a really beautiful hand-carved box).

  Buy your watch overseas and not here. The after sales service will be identical. The don't want to know you. Terrible.

  We were trying to find an engagement ring. Nobody was coming to serve us. There was not busy at all. One Asian girl was standing there just like dreaming . That's fine if you don't want to do a business. Absolutely won't go back.

  Both my wife and I are very happy with the service provided by the Partridge Wellington. Andrew Barrowman, who's a specialist in watches and diamonds, has been extremely helpful, and easy to deal with, too. Especially in terms of sourcing watches and diamonds, you can not find anywhere else in NZ that does a better job than these guys. I bought a few RARE timepieces and engagement rings from there, I have to say they are all fairly priced and never had any defects. Though I've moved to Brisbane now, I still keep coming back whenever I need something. Posting a review today, just to show a little bit of my appreciation. Thanks again for the excellent work.   Have purchased 3 items from Partridge Jewellers. On each visit the staff were very helpful and provided great knowledge and insight, without putting any pressure during discussions. I would have no hesitancy recommending to colleagues; their range and service is certainly 5 star.
