  We visited Pitches Store restaurant during our two day otago rail bike tour recently. As we had no car David picked us up personally from our accommodation in Omakau and gave us a charming guided tour of the heritage buildings of Ophir before we arrived at the restaurant. Colleen welcomed us so warmly and we enjoyed a superb meal in this lovely tastefully restored restaurant in a hidden part of Central Otago. Lovely hosts, excellent food in a beautiful old mining town. Highly recommend.

  Ophir pronounced Ofa is a wonderful location and Pitches Store Cafe serves fantastic in house food and great coffee. Excellent staff great 18th century building respectfully restored. Must stop off.

  Beautiful building. Good food but some items on kid’s menu is overpriced avoid fish and chips. Fish fingers with a small serving of fries was disappointing.

  We called in for a coffee and a quick snack. The scone that we ordered was one of the best, if not the best, that I have ever tasted, fresh, light, and warm. Cooked perfectly.
