I feel like this aquarium is sometimes unjustly judged against other aquariums internationally. Yes it may be small but considering it’s features and the fact it was pretty much built by one guy, it’s pretty impressive. I will say that if you have been to an aquarium in a larger international city, it might be a slight let down to see how small Kelly tarltons is BUT it is worth the trip as the animals are well cared for, there’s plenty to look at and there’s the amazing activities of the shark cage and the penguin tour. Plus it’s close to the city, and not too expensive (some might disagree but $20-$30 isn’t that bad in my opinion)

This place isn't what it used to be. The tunnel aquarium has become dull, there's no colour and way less fish. The place needs a good clean and a bit more love. Still nice for first time visitors but it definitely has nothing on its prime years.

This place gives value to your money. There is a good variety of all kinds of fish. You can enjoy the ride on the belt exploring the massive fish tank. There are times where they feed the fish as well. You could also see a large number of penguins at this place. A must visit place. Recommended

Very good aquarium and great for both young and older kids. Lots of interactive displays and the play area is great. Full of teaching opportunities for teachers and parents and self-learning for kids. The fishes and all the other animals are lively, interesting and seem to be very healthy. Unfortunately, I don't have photos of the sharks, turtles and stingrays but they are just as beautiful and majestic.

This is a real Auckland gem. Amazing for kids of all ages. Make sure you buy tickets online before you go to cut the long queue (due to so many tourists) and for a price discount. Annoyingly just as you pay you have to have your photo taken but just smile and pass. Penguins are amazing, so is the open top fish tank near the children's soft play area. The revolving aquarium is the best ever. Recently a member of the family did the shark dive this is amazing too. A must visit for a tourist, if you live in Auckland and have children buy the yearly pass.
