::I'm kind of a hospital connoisseur at this point, and let me just say that the staff at Southern Cross Wellington are the best I have ever encountered. The nurses were so kind and thoughtful, making us feel comfortable during the admission, sneaking my partner coffee because he isn't a morning person etc. Checking in constantly, and then adjusting my care plan when I had a very minor reaction to the anesthetic. I have never felt so well looked after. Thank you all so much.

::Wife went in for a hysterectomy in 2017 during the operation some sterilizing liquid made contact with a heart rate monitoring pad causing a third degree chemical burn. When we inquired about this we were told they had no knowledge of this and nothing was mentioned by post op staff. After a bit of digging, the specialist who organized the operation admitted that there had been an accident during surgery but as he wasn't present couldn't tell us what had happened. We approached the malpractice ombudsman and laid a case against Southern Cross but this has been delayed as Southern Cross has lost my wifes surgery notes and after 2 years we have all but given up. My advice is go to another Private hospital that takes responsibility for its work and doesn't lose their patients files when their surgeons screw up.

::A friendly area with helpful staff. Would be five stars, but the place seems a bit disconnected, where people in one area don't know much about others. Friendly and helpful, but the helpfulness is limited to the immediate area.
