  We were led here by the compelling reviews as we cruised Masterton at 4pm on a public holiday starving hungry after doing that loop track at Pukaha Mt Bruce. We didn't want to eat so much since it was so close to dinner not did we want to order fish as we were suspicious about the freshness on a public holiday so we played it safe with one scoop, one hotdog and a lasagne topper. It didn't disappoint. The chips were as crunchy as a fresh carrot and the batter on the hotdog was next level. It's pretty hard to elevate the humble hotdog but these guys pulled it off. I won't review the lasagne topper as only we alone should carry the guilt of that dirty purchase. We ate these fish and chips while driving and they were perfect for the job. A mouse hole was ripped into the packet and my wife handed the chips over so I could keep my eyes on the Wairarapa roads. The kennel of grease on this food was so low so perfect to eat while driving. The last thing that was massively impressive was the number of tattoos worn by the clientele who eat at 4pm. The Green Frog was well worth the diversion - it's an absolute credit to its community

  Great fish and chips here, nice and crisp and not full of oil. My favorite chippie when in working Masterton area

  Great place for takeaways fish and chips beautifully cooked and scrumptious hamburgers and very friendly owners.
