  I recently rang around three law firms based in Kapiti to engage a firm to assist with a property transaction (a land purchase). I contacted the Law Connection Ltd at 9:15am, the person who took my call was very professional and indicated she would get someone to contact me. I heard nothing so contacted the firm again at 4:00pm, same person indicated she had referred my request through to the Practice Manager who was going to allocate my request to one of their team. 30 minutes later one of the directors rang me. Unfortunately the director confirmed their practice had not dealt with sales in this particular sub-division and despite having no conditions attached to my S&P was going to charge me just over $1,900 (including disbursements) for what was a very straight forward transaction. I would recommend others in my position also ringing around; I engaged a local firm who had been involved with this sub-division and their charges were just under $1,300 (including disbursements).
