Wow! Where to start. This place is a real gem! The manager's name is Karen and from the moment you walk in the doors she makes you feel welcome. You get the feeling that you are walking into a family member's house. She checks you in and then gives you a private tour of the property, the amenities, and your room. It is as charming and quaint as can be. Situated just a few blocks from the town, and a stone's throw from the lake. Karen is almost always available for suggestions about where to eat or activities to do. The room was spotless. My wife and I stayed two nights and when we got back from our bike ride the second day our room had been cleaned. The service is spectacular! One of the best features of Wanaka Homestead is the washer and dryer which really can come in handy on long vacations. There is a hot tub to unwind and a great room or parlor where guests can relax by the fire. That is also where breakfast is served. If you want to ride bikes around the lake or down to the restaurants Karen and the Wanaka Homestead has you covered. They have bikes, helmets, and locks to take at no additional charge. All apart of staying at the very best B&B in Wanaka! I couldn't recommend this place more. We will be back.

We had a wonderful, 3-night stay in June. We booked the two bedroom cottage and it was spacious and well appointed. One bathroom has been updated and is large and modern. The other was a bit dated but due to be updated soon. Karen is the new manager onsite and she is professional and friendly and made us feel very welcome. We loved the great room and fireplace. We had it to ourselves on our second night. We also loved the hot tub that was so soothing for our muscles after a pre-dawn hike to Roys Peak. The laundry facility was excellent with 3 washers, one dryer and a clothesline. They provide wash soap as well. There is daily service to the rooms like a hotel. The owners were in town the week we stayed and we got to meet them. A wonderful couple who care about providing value to their guests. It's a hundred meter walk to the lake near the Wanaka Tree and a short walk to town. Wanaka is a special place and the Homestead was a great place to stay. Both were our favorite places during our 3 weeks in NZ.

Very friendly staff, great amenities such as laundry machines for guests and a hot tub, in a beautiful, convenient location. Also provided an excellent binder of thongs to do and places to eat in the area.

We travelled round New Zealand for several weeks staying in 9 different places and Wanaka Homestead stands out as the best! The rooms are clean, modern and large yet manage to feel homely. Our host was very welcoming and there's plenty of useful things included in your stay - a free laundry room, bikes to borrow (also free), a barbecue and outdoor hot tub. Included in our stay was a cooked breakfast every day and cereal, fruit, yoghurt etc. There's also a lovely lounge area for guests with log fire which is the perfect place to unwind in an evening. Thoroughly recommended!
