YooBee colleges is associated with the Apple retail brand - an item that's upped 100% based on brand perception. Regardless of that, this small, independently run college is of average-to-poor quality. There are a few (FEW) engaging tutors with industry backgrounds, some of them truly lack confidence or delivery, student skill level is average-to-poor with a few exceptions and there is a lack of oversight or independent review as you get with larger (real) university courses. Private training providers are set up to: get wealthy parents overseas to fork out for international fees, there is little other reason for the program to exist, for instance they teach a diploma in technical film, 3D animation - the allusion being the course will graduate to work in Wellington's film contract industry (Weta, etc), of course, none or maybe one student from the entire year gets offered work there. The (company) known as Yoobee college also teaches web and code for developers; all of this material is taught more effectively via the city's free Lynda.com tuition resource, complete with video content and teaching materials. If you ask random people about their experience at YooBee, oftentimes stories will come back about difficult, or ineffectual tutors. Some are great (a solid 40% of staff there are great, helpful people.) Is the course worth the cost? No. It's at best a public school course run by a for-profit company hiding behind the Apple brand.

The school is a literal diploma mill with zero accountability for their under qualified tutors. From what I've seen out in the real industry their curriculum is outdated and their claim for 'teaching industry standard skills' is questionable. They don't respond to student feedback and seem to treat their staff badly, general bad vibes and management. Highly not recommended.

First year was alright. Tutor was professional and very supportive. Second year, I had a somewhat arrogant and unsupportive tutor. This combined with a variety of other problems resulted in me dropping out. Overall cost is very high, even with the hefty government subsidy.

A very poorly run institution with unqualified tutors, extremely high fees on top of a rather large Government subsidy brings the total cost to almost $20,000, its very difficult to see what private institutions like this one spend it on. Allegations of on-campus bullying, harassment and intimidation are largely ignored. 1st year Web design and Film classes should be avoided at all costs as the staff of those respective classes are known for their bullying and harassment of students over frivolous and trivial nonsense. Would be surprised if this pitiful excuse for a tertiary institution lasted much longer, what a disgrace.

Pretty good place to study design type diplomas. Teachers seem to love their job and inspire the students. I learned a lot in my course and hope I can use the skills in the future. However It is really hard to find a job after graduation, with so many more confident design graduates in NZ and the fees are high. But it's overall a great place to study and very much a learning environment where you will learn a lot. Would recommend to others who want to work in the design industry.
