::Two totally different experiences here. The lady I meet was awesome and very helpful. They guy I went back to was rude, pushy and totally unprofessional. Won't be shopping here again.

::Thanks Trish and Gareth for your feedback. Gareth, As the new owner of Abel Traders, we pride ourselves on delivering a good shopping experience for customers looking for good quality secondhand furniture at an affordable price. With new stock arriving each week, we can no longer place items on hold. I have acted on your feedback and all staff have now been updated with our store "no hold" policy. My apologies that this has caused some confusion and frustration.

::Wow, they must have been having an off day (as we do from time to time). I am a regular visitor to Abel Traders. They have such a good range of items from antique-like furniture, tables, chairs, lounge suites to smaller items such as pre-loved art. The shop floor keeps changing and I am always keen to see what "new" stuff they have got. The prices are real reasonable and the dealings I have with the current owners has been great. So far I have bought a A2 framed art piece and bedside drawers. My buying experience was real good. I wish I could buy more, which is why I keep going back.

::After my old recliner chair broke, I decided to go shopping for a new-ish couch. At a family member's recommendation, I checked out this second-hand store, Abel Traders, on Ghuznee St. My own opinion? DO NOT SHOP THERE. I went in, and found a rather nice high-backed 3 seater with a footstool for a reasonable price. The salesman was very helpful, helped me measure it up (wasn't sure it would fit through the door) and offered to hold it for me if I rang back and said it would fit. On calling back, I instead got someone else I believe to be a manager, as the salesman I talked to had gone home. He said they 'didn't do holds' unless they 'saw some dollars, some money', and I could 'come in and put a couple of bucks down'. When I said the salesman offered to hold it for me, he started going on about the salesman being Irish and promising the world, including a rather bad mock-Irish imitation. I *was* going to go back in tomorrow and buy that couch, but if that's how they speak to their customers and about their staff, I will be shopping elsewhere. It's not on, and completely unacceptable.
