  I hadn't heard any local buzz about Amphora, but we wanted to try somewhere new along The Strand, so chose this restaurant at random. So glad that we did. The food was delicious and the ingredients (e.g. the fresh pasta) seemed fresh and authentically prepared. The portions were generous, though not ridiculously so. My dining companion had the entree sized scallops and had more than enough to eat as a main dish. Our waitress, too, was a delight. She was polite and gracious and made us feel very well looked after. Thus it's now a local haunt and just can't wait to go back again😊

  Loved this restaurant! The service made our whole experience. We came with a group of 23 people. Every course was promptly served and timed perfectly, and nothing was overlooked or missing! I was so impressed by their attention to detail and ability to anticipate our needs. The food itself was amazing!!!

  Pros: our 7 y.o Daughter had a good night. She loved her kids meal. That stops this being a 1 star review. Cons: one of the other kids meals had to be sent back as it was under-cooked (chicken nuggets pink on the inside). We had two tables booked, orders were taken quickly. Kids meals were on the table within 10 minutes, first table of adults within 25. The other table was forgotten about. 30 minutes dragged by, we were assured our table would be served "soon". Our table must have been forgotten as one table of adults had completely finished by the time the other table was being served - only the second time in my life I've had restaurant service that bad. 7 other tables of adults were served in the interim while we waited. Price is ok, just don't book a large group function here.

  Midweek. Wait staff were wonderful. Think cooks were slacking. Meals (mains only) took way too long but were good once finally received. Would return if hosts chose again but wouldn't opt if hosting.

  Lovely place, it was quite busy and it definitely slowed the service down. They did remain friendly and helpful however. Could not complain about the food though, decent size portions and absolutely delicious. I won't be getting a starter here again as both my wife and I struggled with our mains. We will be back.
