BAD BUSINESS: I went to Bed Bath and Beyond New Plymouth today specifically to buy a number of items. I was in the store with my arms full of goods quickly trying to do the shop and be gone as my husband was waiting outside the store in our vehicle with sleeping baby and 3 year old. When my husband dashed into the store and asked politely if our daughter who is toilet training, could use the toilet (explaining that I, her mother, was in the store about to purchase hundreds of dollars worth of items). The clerk proceeded to tell my husband he could go to Mitre10 and use their toilet. Our poor girl was busting and I went to the counter and pleaded with them to allow us to help our daughter use their staff toilet to which they said "yes, we have a toilet, and no, you cant use it." I was shocked that the two woman could be so heartless and rude. I put all of my items on the counter and told them angrily they had lost a valued customer and that I will never buy from Bed Bath and Beyond ever again. The women at the front desk were patronizing and smug. One rather large woman raked all my things into a pile and waved over her head in a rather exaggerated fashion "Have a nice Day." Being extremely sarcastic. I would expect that paying customers would be able to use their bathroom. It is not as if I had just walked in with my child, and had asked to use the toilet, without being a customer, I was shopping in the back of the store! We are a hard working young family and we do not have time to be told to go to another store to use the bathroom for a toilet training 3 year old who probably would have changed her mind once we got to the toilet! I have had pharmacies let us use the toilet! YOU ARE A BATHROOM SUPPLIES STORE.. GET OVER YOURSELVES..You need to re-think how you treat your customers. After all, your customer is everything. NO CUSTOMER, NO BUSINESS. NEGATIVE 1 star (worst experience ever).
