  Really disappointed. It is all 'work to rules' with this embassy! We are German Citizen living permanently in New Zealand and my wife and daughter had to renew their passports in January before its expiry in March. For this purpose we had to travel on a Friday up to Wellington (we live on the South Island) what was not an issue and expected. However, an issue was that due to the ferry schedule (earliest arrival in Wellington was at 1.55pm) we were unable to make an appointment for the same day as they only allow appointments till 10.30am. I provided numerous options on how to make this work but was always rejected with ‘afternoon appointments are only accepted on Wednesdays!’. We ended up arriving a day earlier what resulted in additional accommodation costs and an extra day off work for me and my wife. I try to see this objectively but even weeks after my interaction with the German Embassy in Wellington feel they could have done a bit more to assist us better.

  All of our participants on Nomaden Berlin's relocation program who have dealt with this embassy to obtain a working Holiday visa have had a positive experience. Helpful and quick embassy!
