  There's a lot of good used stuff here from clothing to furniture and some appliances ... a little pricey perhaps compared to other OppShops... but it all goes to a very worthy local cause !

  Cute little shop with previously loved goods. I almost guarantee you won't leave empty handed, even if you planned to window shop!

  When Hospice first opened as a SECOND HAND STORE they were reasonably decent. After about 6 months, they steadily went downhill. Firstly, I find their prices as a SECOND HAND STORE utterly disgusting. They are trying to be an upper class "vintage" store, and the price tags they attach to their items reflect this. I thought these stores were supposed to help out struggling people and families, not rob them blind. $250 for a metal mannequin is outrageous. I can buy a BRAND NEW one for $169. Clothing that would only cost you $5 or $6 at another second hand store start at $12 here at hospice. Yes, they may be unique brands, but they are still second hand! Crockery and art glass are overpriced. I don't care that you THINK it is Murano, still does not mean you can charge someone $40 for a second hand paperweight that has no markings or authenticity. Secondly, their volunteers attitude make you feel small and unworthy. They treat you like a thief, watch you like a hawk, and God forbid you have children in tow. Don't even bother asking a question about something you found without a price tag. They accuse YOU of taking it off in the first place! RUDE and unjustified. Thirdly, their so called book department upstairs is a joke. They put price tags on books they believe are worth a pretty penny. $6 for a old school Winnie the pooh thin paper back with yellowing pages is a joke. Don't you want kids to read? Don't blame the parent for thinking this book was $1 when it was clearly moved from the special edition section and then look indignified when she queried the price!? What this store clearly forgets is that EVERYTHING is donated for FREE yet they are filled with greed when "appraising" the items they put on sale. A pawn broker is cheaper than buying some items from, than at Hospice. I feel sorry for those who think this store is worth their time. RUDE staff, outrageous prices and a healthy stock of normal items selling for unique and rare prices. Totally unjustified in every way.

  I've always been a huge fan of Op shops and 2nd hand shops. I somehow find the stuff overpriced here at the Hamilton branch. Op shops make for addictive buying.. but the prices here put a tab on that. They have a good range of things but beware.. once it makes it to the "top level" it gets expensive. Just tapped myself on a rather expensive buy.. it's for a cause.. after all... You need to keep a sharp eye for the good stuff. Very friendly and helpful staff at the warehouse side.. thank You ladies!
