  Apart from Ideal being very handy downtown Wellington on the corner of Ghuznee and Taranaki streets with good and easy access parking in front via Egmont Lane off Ghuznee, the store has an amazing array of electrical contractors supplies - basically anything that an electrical contractor would want for a new install, refurbishment, project at any scale Ideal will have it or get it in within a very short amount of time. All the staff are friendly and know their stuff. I have purchased electrical cabling, ducting, commercial wireless alarm systems, lighting, electrical crimping tools/lugs in the past and recently a stainless steel Manrose outdoor air cowling - I did a ring around most of the downtown and Lower Hutt electrical contractor suppliers to no avail before heading out before heading down to Ideal which was the nearest store to me anyway and they had on the shelf exactly what I was after. This is a professional electrical contractors store dealing with tradesman and the general public alike - they really know their stuff and trade rates are reasonable. Store is well laid out and pretty immaculate as you would expect from an efficient and professional store like this.

  Really helpful staff. We have lights that require specific bulbs - and these kept blowing (something to do with the heat they produce). They recommended LED and we haven't blown another bulb, yet.
