::Simply the Best We stayed at Mokoia Downs on a return visit over earlier this year. On our two previous visits we were blown away by the hospitality, the beautiful house, the lovely grounds and, not to forget, those fantastic breakfasts. This was another great stay and somehow even better than before. I’m not sure if it was the fabulous home-made liqueurs which Mick and Teresa invited us to sample, or the other extra little touches that had been added since our last visit, but from an already very high standard Mokoia Downs has somehow got even better. Our 7 year old son and his cousin loved the huge new children’s play area that Mick and Teresa had created since our last visit, and they also has a great time watching a movie in the cinema (this space was originally built as a Dance Studio). When not doing things around Rotorua there was so much for our son and his friend to do at Mokoia Downs that my wife and I were even able to read in the lovely conservatory for what seemed like ages without the usual interruptions we experience when at home. Mokoia Downs is an exceptional B&B and Mick and Teresa are exceptional hosts. The attention to detail is exemplary, but above all it is the warmth of the hospitality that makes a stay there such a special experience.

::My wife had never stayed at a B&B and was quite nervous. Mick and Teresa were most accommodating making the stay pleasant and memorable. Both have a flare for entertaining as well as cooking, this resulted in stuffing myself at breakfast every morning because the selection was just amazing and I couldn't leave the table without at least trying all the homemade produce. It was a very easy place to relax as it's not so small that you're always tripping over people but not so large that you feel isolated. It is located close to some great sights and about 10min drive from the centre of town. My (pregnant) wife caught a cold during our travels, the worst of it hit as we arrived at Mokoia Downs Estate B&B, Teresa and Mick were really accommodating, Teresa constantly making tea with honey and cloves and Mick keeping me entertained so that I would leave my wife alone to get some rest. They took really amazing care of us and I don't have the words to express my gratitude. This will be our accommodation of choice every time we return to Rotorua.
