::Ordered a Moroccan Lamb Skewer meal for my father and two different meals for myself and husband. The lamb was so tough my father couldn't chew it. He kept quiet till the end of the meal until he was asked why he didn't finish. We informed the waitress who told the duty Manager Sarah, who was pleasant and seeing as we were finished said ask for her next time and she'll sort it out. Next trip, no Sarah on duty, but another supervisor who was rude and incompetent and insinuated we were lying by saying, I'm surprised it wasn't dealt with on the day, it's not in the book, we always write anything wrong in the book. She spoke to the owner, who didn't come out and said give them a free coffee. We chose to refuse the coffee and we will never darken the door of Mondos again. Absolutely horrid behaviour and poorly trained staff, except for the acting manager who initially helped us. We went back happily because of her attitude. But Mondos can quite frankly go to hell. Jolt is a better option for us from now on, and much better service.

::Good service not expensive!

::I'm surprised this place is still open truthfully, probably relies on tourist trade rather than repeat customers . Food is VERY mediocre, poor quality ingredients used - inedible, chewy mushrooms and uncooked sandwich bread instead of Rye toast as described on the menu. Whangarei has some decent cafes but this is not one of them. Would not recommend.

::We came in with 18 people for brunch, un announced. They were very quick to move tables together and orders came out very quick. A mix of eggs Benedict's, mixed grill, omelets and cream mushrooms all looked and tasted great. Well done Mondo's

::Decent cafe on the waterfront. Coffee is average, but passable.
