::This post office is one of many quaint buildings lining the gold-rush town of Ophir. If you want to post a letter from one of the quirkiest places in New Zealand - Ophir is the oldest continually running postal service in the country, open on weekdays from 9am till noon. Buy a postcard and frank it yourself by hand using the office’s original Victorian-era rubber stamp!

::Nice historic place for a visit on a fine day. Be careful on the road when walking about... Remember this fact if you are a pedestrian. Watch out for cars... Humans are soft and squishy but cars are hard; cars always win. Brains don't heal like bones. AND on a lighter note... the more you weigh the harder you are to KIDNAP! Stay Safe; eat chocolate.

::This cute little post office is frozen in time since its inauguration in 1886 during the Central Otago gold rush and it is still a functioning post office today. There are also a number of historic buildings along the same street. If you mentally ignore the modern cars on the street, you can get an idea of what the town looks like in the 19th century. Those without any imagination can walk a couple of steps to the west and look at the historic photo of the town on the information board.
