::suuuuuper awesome weekend here, we went snorkeling on the saturday and took walks around the whole island on saturday and sunday, we went to ladies bay for the snorkeling and swam around the rocks, the fish weren't plentifully nor colourful but the experience was beautiful, we went to ladies bay, mens bay, home bay, the north tower, the south tower, the museum, the ganat collany, the lizard sanctuary, the and the graveyard it was really interesting and a great weekend, i'd suggest going in summer for better water temperatures but its awesome

::Stunning island with walking tracks overlooking the beautiful Auckland harbour. For only a 75 minute ferry ride away from the CBD, this island is one of Auckland's best kept secret. Definitely worth checking out the Ladies Bay, North Tower and South Tower for awesome views.

::Beautifully preserved piece of New Zealand History. Catch the ferry to the island and wander around freely enjoying the scenery. The island has an interesting history which is explained in the museum and colonial buildings that are perfectly restored and maintained. Enjoy the birdlife and see how the islands bird breading program is coming along. Bring a picnic or use the BBQ area and catch the ferry back when you are ready to head home.

::The island is simply beautiful - you feel like you are there all by yourself. The hiking trails are really well marked, and it's easy to do most of the walking in two hours. The beaches, especially Men's Bay, are just stunning. There is a water fountain in the main area but bring your own lunch. I did feel that you get almost too much time to spend there waiting for the ferry back.

::A fantastic day trip. The island and it's beaches are stunning. Moderate, yet very scenic walk from one end of the island to the other. Lovely picnic spots. A worth while visit. Access by ferry only.
