::Sabato equals quality food supplies. If you want super special olive oil, vinegar or imported pasta, Sabato is the best choice. Tucked away almost out of sight it has reliable parking. Not a cheap shop, more pricey than Farro Fresh and a little more formal. Yet, Sabato stocks true quality goods. If you want sherry vinegar this is the place to get it in NZ. The best canned sardines in Auckland but not the place to go to for herring. Good cheese selection. I've always liked this place. Is it too well mannered or so justifiably self assured that it really doesn't need to be a simple place to shop? I can't decide - but I certainly think it's one of the staunchest places in Auckland to buy packaged imported food. I like it immensely. Try it. You'll remember going to Sabato.

::I was here today and found it great, I had 2 kids with me and the proprietors included them in the experience of food enjoyment. They had some samples to try, and knew lots about the products. They opened a container of creme brulee valrrhona chocolate for my son to try and when I saw the coffee machine I asked if they sold coffee too...they made me a cappuccino, and it was free! The best coffee I have had in ages! I found this place because I saw some muscatels in Wanganui that came from Sabato except didnt want to pay $20 for a bag! So at Sabato I could buy them by weight...I have finished them already...i'll be back for more...they have a loyalty club too... and some good discounts available regularly.
