::Our room was very nice with its own kitchenette, it was cleaned every day, the staff was friendly and the location of the hotel is great - right in the beginning of the city center. The view is not spectacular, but it's a great choice for a budget.

::My husband and I stayed here as part of a 12-day tour throughout NZ to celebrate our 2-year wedding anniversary. We were a little nervous upon arrival as there was scaffolding all around the outside of the hotel, but we soon learned that the exterior was being restored. Our room was lovely and the decor was very modern and beautiful. It had more than most hotel rooms offer - a comfy couch, a chair and a coffee table, as well as a super comfortable bed. Plenty of storage too. We were so happy and surprised to receive a bottle of wine and a welcome letter on our day of check-in. The breakfasts were reasonable and delicious and always on time (room service order). We also ate in the restaurant below twice for dinner and both times were very satisfactory. We only disliked the renovation noise on our third day as it was quite loud and constant, and the housekeeping kept knocking on our door on a day we decided to sleep in late. We stayed for 3 nights in total and had an overall pretty great experience here. Hazel at reception was in particular so friendly and helpful. Hope to be back someday!

::Refurbishment still going on so expect scaffolding on the outside... however we stayed on top floor in a king room... absolutely done to the highest specs and the little details are all there. Service impeccable. Breakfast has everything although I find the decor rather 1990s in the cafe but her... that's personal taste at the end of the day. Prices reasonable
