  Wonderful environment and location. The staff and bartenders were really friendly. The beer is great too! The rooms are spacious enough, with the beds being really cozy. Overall a great place to stay.

  Food had potential and was cheap! Order was however screwed up and took 50minutes. Steak came out pretty blue to be honest, asked for medium rare. I imagine in the rush to get the order out it was just rushed. I'm pretty sure I just caught the crew on a bad day as it wasn't busy I would give it another go, I imagine your experience would be better.

  This place doesn't deserve any stars! So the room was tiny, no where to put anything, no storage, no hanging space. It was filty,thick dust around the skirting board. The room was dark and dingey and the curtains were hanging off the pole. Although there was a kettle it was very difficult to make a drink due to lack of space. Again bathroom tiny and no space for toiletries. The fan in the shower was caked in dust. And there was a sign saying don't shower with the door open as it will set off the smoke alarm! Our room was on the third floor, with a balcony underneath for the restaurant, so people sat there until 2am chatting,laughing etc so very noisy. Also music from the bar was thumping until early hours. And then there were road works outside where a new rail link is being installed. So very noisy. I asked to borrow an iron and ironing board, at first the girl said she would sort it out for me and then said they didn't have one. Never heard anything like it! I know there was an ironing board as I saw it it the cupboard next to our room. Any way that was the last straw. We were booked for 4 nights but left after 2. When we told them were were checking out and why they didn't say a word. No reaction, just didn't care! DONT stay there. Such a waste of money.

  Good hotel stay for the price. Great location. It is a bit loud with the windows open at night. The bed is comfortable and the room was pretty clean.

  The bar downstairs was bright and quite clean, nice beer, reasonable prices. Seating was okay, television was showing cricket. There was also rather loud and unrelated background music playing through loudspeakers. Menu looked okay, but we did not eat on this occasion as it was only mid afternoon and we had already lunched.There were rather too many flies buzzing around for my liking. Toilets were just about acceptable, but toilet walls and woodwork could be cleaner, especially in respect of the cobwebs (or perhaps they are a feature). In sum: an okay place in a rather nice building. I intend to visit the upstairs restaurant, one day in the not too distant future.
