  Even for a 3 star, this place is bloody terrible and needs shutting down. Health & Safety would have a field day here. Very tatty and run down. Thread bare carpets, towels all ripped and one actually fell apart in my hands! Bed linen ripped and pillows were covered in stains. Bathroom ceiling completely covered in mould and there was no running hot water. Furniture all tatty with bits missing. Kettle and crockery very old and tatty. The lifts hadn't been serviced and the last inspections were out of date. Bloke at the reception desk gave us more towels but couldn't really care less about our complaints (we were forced to have a cold shower due to the lack of hot running water). Maybe ok for backpackers who couldn't care less about the poor standards. Even for the money we paid...this was well below standard and I would never stay there again or recommend it to anyone.

  Looks great on the outside but ... man what a dump on the inside. Rotten bath towels, unfilled soap dispensers, unfilled tissue dispensers, no shower curtain and even spotted a cockroach running across the floor ... totally gross! Like others have said, this place is stuck with 70s decor. Nice location tho!

  Pretty poor, stuck in a 1970's refurbishment, i found it clean by 70's standards and the staff put on a brave face. It's cheap online, expect an old refurbishment with unique stainless steel shower trays

  This hotel is terrible. Nothing has been renovated since the mid 1970s. Filthy dirty everywhere, old EVERYTHING, tatty, crap shower, 2 towels for 3 beds? ugly dirty broken decor, I booked online somewhere else with hotelclub and got bumped here.. as an upgrade, totally misled! The staff were tatty too. Stupid location if you are doing anything in the centre of Wellington. Maybe if it were $50 a night it would be ok, but $170-$210??!! get real. The backpackers is nicer. Quality Hotel NZ I would be ashamed of this brand being used here. I would never recommend.
