::I have been treated by Smitee at the Skin Institute in Wellington for the last three years and I cannot rate her service and experience highly enough. From the minute you arrive you are warmly welcomed and put at ease. She is a highly skilled nurse who always provides exceptional pre and post treatment advice, she is thorough throughout the consultation process and she cares about addressing your concerns. I have always been more than satisfied with the results of my treatments and her professionalism and care for her patients is second to none. I would recommend Smitee to anyone looking for a highly skilled, caring practitioner who is passionate about the beauty industry and who always puts her client’s needs first. Thank you Smitee, it is always a pleasure to have an appointment with you.

::I received three IPL spot treatments on my nose to treat a small spider vein. The first two treatments were fine - the therapist used a low intensity laser treatment. Unfortunately, the spot returned, so I initially canceled the third appointment. However, I saw a therapist named Smitee for dermal needling, who talked me into receiving the third IPL treatment. She told me that she could use a higher intensity, which was more likely to get the spot to permanently go away. Very unfortunately and infuriatingly, Smitee gave me two second-degree burns on my nose (that are not even on the spider vein that she was attempting to treat). Two hours after the treatment the blisters shed off my nose and began weeping. I contacted Skin Institute the following day, and the nurse treated me, but in my following consultation with Smitee she did not acknowledge her wrongdoing. She admitted to not reviewing my notes and was not aware that I was on doxycycline, which makes me skin very sensitive. The conversation left me feeling like no one cared that Skin Institute permanently scarred my face, and that they do not have client/patient safety in mind. It is almost four weeks post treatment now and I have serious hyperpigmentarion on my nose where Smitee burned me (two spots that are approximately one centimetre long). I have received no post-care advice (despite asking for it), and Skin Institute has not indicated that they are going to ensure that my skin will return to normal. I now have a permanent scar on my face from their mistreatment. Do not go to Skin Institute for your treatments. Trusting that they were going to give me quality care was the worst mistake of my life - one that I will wear a scar for the rest of my life on the middle of my face.
