Car bought for $38000 without negotiation. sales & account staff a friendly bunch, vehicle delivered with out a hassle. Upon drop off was reassured by Chris managers brother i believe “any problems let us know will sort it out”. Well shock hands and parted. Very second day i hear a squeak from the wheels, rang up dealer and was told its normal in a HSV. Persisted and took the car to holden only to find the brake pads, rotors & a brake caliper leaking. After a bit of hassle and exchange of emails this got rectified with after market parts even though i objected the use of after market parts. Davis Holden Manukau did the job, i asked for what parts had been installed they refused to provide and documentation and so did Andrew from Stephen hill. Car purchased on 28 December 2017, vehicle had been with Davis for about a month sitting in there yard as it couldnt be driven waiting on Stephen hill to approve repairs. Finally get the car back, haven’t even got the chance to relax and enjoy the car when i notice a whole bunch of issues. Steering shakes around 100, while braking, interior has issues with leather coming off, coating peeling away, insects in the light covers, marks on the speedo, entertainment screen, substandard paint chip repair, rubber seals peeling away from the wind screen, rust in the engine bay, struts rusting, intermitent noise from wheels and transmission issues, list goes on. List gets sent to Andrew, arrangements are made to drop the car off for repairs. Andrew arranges for a nights stay as its 5 hour drive but with kids its longer, get to the dealer around 2pm Saturday and Andrew (service manager) is not even there. Found out he his gone home for the day as over the phone he mentioned for me to show him the defects in person. Well car gets dropped off hoping all goes well. I am back in Auckland and the manager calls (Anthony) and basically said we are painting the rusted parts, gluing the leather, getting rid of the insects and thats it. Makes a comment that i am cheeky to point out the defects, making it sound like i caused all the defects. Mentions the car is ready for pick up, no accommodation will be provide, make the trip in one day. I work Monday to Friday, he wants me to drive approx 12hrs with my family. Couple of issues i missed which he blamed me for are damaging the tints, causing the cigarette burn makes on the passenger seat, asked if the tyres were okay at point of sale was told its fine, found out its down to 1.5mm. I have owned the car for about 3months. I have kids, plus cigarettes in a $38000 come on. Anthony from the start was rude & inconsiderate. Stated that i should buy a new car or trade some where else. I disagree, Consumer grantees act states vehicle to be “free from minor defects & be of acceptable quality” not the case. Well car gets picked up after a week, walking into the dealership we get approached by a bald old man, no introduction at all. (Suspect this man was Anthony) Very rudely says your car is being bought to the front thats all he says nothing else. So unprofessional, do not recommend these guys to anyone. I have no option but to get the car to a mechanic to carry out full comprehensive evaluation which will be put forward to Motor vehicle disputes tribunal. This is my honest experience with Stephen Hill motors.

Vehicle runs fine but promises made to supply an extra ignition key did not happen despite two visits.

Our family has bought numerous vehicles over many years from here, and generally had a very good run. They have also worked with us when we have needed to sell a car, or trade one in, so that we had as good a deal as possible. (through Greg McCracken)
