::Wide selection of authentic Thai food in a cosy, friendly setting. Was happy to see such a wide range of vegetarian options and the staff were accommodating with veganising the meal. Our server was friendly, helpful, and we didn't wait long for our meals. My meal was a luscious Royal Panaeng and the curry was creamy with a pleasant wave of heat through it. The vegetables were fresh and cooked just long enough to still have that characteristically Thai crunch. I am excited to try the other menu items, there is so much to choose from. Although the restaurant is advertised as 5pm-late, the server turned their "closed" sign over not long after 8pm, while we were still eating. I'm not sure if this was due to only having one table of diners, or if this is their idea of late. Either way, closing hours would benefit from some clarifying.

::We chose Orchid Thai for a low-key dinner located a convenient stretch down the road from our motel, having noticing it was well-patronized on previous nights when we were dining at other nearby eateries. The interior is comfortable without being lavish or overly decorated. The tables have glass tops and the furniture was more functional than designer. We felt welcomed upon entering, greeted by a very pleasant gentleman. Amongst us we ordered two mixed entrees, and for mains a green chicken curry, thai fried fish and a special of mixed seafood curry stir-fry. Very much satisfied with our meal choices, the mixed entrees provided everything we could want as a sampler, from piquant fish cakes, crispy curry-puffs and spring rolls, to delicate satay and fried chicken wings. With the mains, the green curry was spiced to my companion's liking, although his request for extra cashews on / in the curry did result in a whole bowl of them being brought to the table with the meal at extra charge rather than the sprinkling on top he was expecting. The fried fish had a pleasant sweet piquant sauce and wasn't overcooked, while the mixed seafood stir fry was a delicious medley of texture and variety in the shellfish provided, though detectably from frozen rather than fresh. The curry sauce however was really packed with flavor and I devoured the lot happily. Our server seemed a little nervous and inexperienced and had to come back to check the order as his memory had failed him, but he made up for this in friendliness and it certainly didn't detract from a pleasant dinner experience.

::Food is okay and service is good but overly spicy and salty (vegetarian stir fry dishes) for my liking.
