::After recently moving into the area I've been sampling the restaurants in my new home town but I really didn't enjoy this experience - the food was poor and expensive. Eel risotto was just odd. Bone and cartilage still left on the eel, rice somehow both under and over cooked. Sorry guys you need to do better - Glad to see the Eel Risotto has since been taken off the menu

::We enjoyed a lovely lunch here today - soup of the day and an amazing gourmet hamburger. The decor complemented the beautiful views out the windows. Would return again if we could.

::Came on a Tuesday night. Fairly quiet. Venue seems very new, staff friendly. Good range of seating inside and out. Excellent location - right on the edge of the lake. Ordered a couple of glasses of wine and a couple of large dishes to share. Had a lot of problems with the food and experience. The chef's can clearly cook and the place has a lot of potential so I'm listing things below as constructive feedback. Despite the low rating, I would recommend others to go along and try as there's plenty of scope to turn things around. Smoked eel risotto: - Too many components, combination of eel and the risotto didn't work - Overpowering citrus in the risotto - Risotto a bit overcooked - Eel hadn't been prepared properly. Some inedible bits of bone, odd contrast of meaty pieces and jelly skin. - Good portion size Roasted lamb "salad" - Firstly, perfectly cooked lamb - Too many components (again) that didn't all work together - Feta shouldn't be on the plate, terrible combo - Courgette tasted awful! - Jus was heading in the right direction Overall advice is to keep it simple and focus on a few good quality ingredients paired together. The wine was pleasant enough, but nothing special. Given where we are, and the price charged, I expected better. Finally, suggest you identify who your customers are... Blasting mediocre dance music may work for a wine bar in a city location, but in Cromwell I guess your customers might be different. Find a vibe that is more suitable. You want to draw people in, not drive them away.
