  Nice little pub. We got the roast pork and roast beef dinners. They were a little dry. Nice atmosphere, staff was friendly, points off for the dog roaming around the dining area looking for hand outs. Not a good look and I’m sure it’s a health issue?! Parking was good, decor was tidy. I’d stop in again and try something else. Price was ok.

  The food was really good but took a long time to arrive as there was quite a lot of people in the pub. The garden is great with peacocks roaming it. Was also a pub dog which is always a winner. Not lots of beer on tap but the selection is varied enough that you'll find something for you.

  A favourite haunt when in the Wairarapa. A hidden gem to be fair. Great beers and wine selection and the food is great for a pub. The back lawn in America is superb - relaxing and so many cool birds to hang with (animals).

  New owner doing a great job much cleaner than it used to be. Very friendly and helpful. Just could do with some new carpets but she had cleaned the old ones well. Garden at back good for kids to have a run round dog, chooks and peacocks roaming round

  Nice pub and restaurant. They offered a 3-course roast beef meal. I don’t consider a small piece of garlic bread to be a “course”. The roast beef was ok, not the best, but plenty of it. Ended with an apple cobbler topped with ice cream. It is a small, friendly place. I will visit again. Be aware that they are open on differing days and hours. Best to phone ahead to see if they are open.
