  So disappointed, sadly my order was that over cooked that it was inedible so after a very long wait, all I did was waste $39. I'm afraid I won't be back again.

  Visited the chippery and couldn't believe what happened. After standing in a big queue waiting to collect a phoned in order I quickly realized I was in for a long wait. They had one person serving walk in customers, answering the incoming phone calls, and serving the dine in customers. This of course caused an unusually long wait, and it seems ludicrous that a popular takeaway joint would understaff the place so badly. At 645pm you expect far better than that, and not to be standing in a queue watching the only server leave the counter to wander round the dining area serving people their meals. Will not be back to this place as for the prices your paying you expect it to be adequately staffed!!!

  Best fish and burgers I've had. Would recommend Thorndon Chippery 100%, but go when you're hungry - just one serving of curly fries was enough to fill me up last time! Also, order ahead if you can (by phone or website) as they (understandably) get busy during lunch. My favourites are the fish burgers and crab burger. A thicker dressing on the coleslaw and it would be right up there too. Everything here is super fresh, and I've never had a bad experience.

  Excellent customer service and great knowledge about the different fish. Tried the panko and the beer batter, and the beer battered chips. Everything was wonderful and fresh, and the chips were some of the best I've had.

  Excellent choices for everything on the menu. A selection of fish varieties, cooking methods, chip cuts and side dishes. Good burgers and a special offering of soft shell crab the day that we visited. Plenty of seating options available other than peak times. Can get busy at prime time so I'd suggest using their online ordering for a head start
