  The hosts are absolutely lovely and Ian has a classic sense of Kiwi humour. Jane is so sweet. We stayed in the garden unit. Cosy and quiet place, the building is old and reflects in the fittings/drawers (smells like old wood), but the essentials are clean and the house has a lot of charm. Basic cooking utensils, salt/pepper and an electric skillet is provided, although I'd recommend you bring a portable stove and some cutting utensils for more efficient cooking, as the only knives available during our stay were a filleting knife and a paring knife, both quite blunt. There is an electric hotplate however we stood there for 10+ minutes waiting for a pot of water to boil (even boiled in the jug beforehand). We ended up using the skillet as it was faster than the hotplate. The hosts are really good as they gave us a bigger knife to slice our watermelon with when requested. The garden is endearing and decorated with such charm. There's even an eel in a stream and a fishpond! Heaps of garden plants and even banana trees which we were offered bananas from (delicious!!). Breakfast is provided through the website booking and you just turn up around 8:30am for delicious scrambled eggs and toast, etc. One morning we decided not to take up the offer of breakfast and Jane came down to make sure we were OK. The hosts know when to give space and when to check up on you which we appreciated. If you are lucky you may be see their cat or be visited by the neighbours' adorable dog. We had a great stay and it was very affordable.

  Jane & Ian are lovely hosts. We didn't take their offer of breakfast but they accommodated us in every way that they could :)

  Great people, prime location to boat ramp shops sea and sun. My little family been going there for the past 5 years now and will still go back.
