Booked Degustation deal on Grab one,Meal was excellent great job by guy who served us too, grounds well kept, pool clean but not heated, room was little dated bed really comfy, building going on right opposite, biggest let down was place inside looking very tired lounge depressing too dark we actually pulled the top blinds up to let natural light in it was so much better when sitting in there with a drink or watching Sky TV the heavy red curtains very dusty they really dont need to be there, there is far too much furniture, would look better with walls painted lighter and fireplace more inviting, the balcony in lounge which has a library very neglected, dining room chair frames dusty, overall a big let down for such a stunning location, new rooms being built would benefit upgrading the main buiding inside for prices charged.

Location is stunning with freindly helpful reception. Decore is dated and in need of upgrading. The hotel was being extended during our stay. Our room overlooked the noisy construction site which destroyed the peaceful natural forest ambiance . Wish I was informed of the works prior to booking for two nights. Food is over priced and frankly my veal was soaked in oil - not pleasant at all. Our room was not made up daily; however we did get asked if there was anything we needed. Bathroom was well presented as were the grounds.

Extremely quiet and nice view. Very clean. Would have deserved 4 stars but the look and feel is a bit old...

Waitakere Estate is an amazing destination for a luxury stay so close to Auckland. The staff is very friendly and welcoming. The views are spectacular by day or night. The chefs are superb and go out of their way to accomodate guests.

Fantastic experience. From the drive through scenic rain forest to the welcome and rooms which have been updated end of 2015. We have lived in Auckland since the 80's and did not know this place was here. The views back over Auckland were amazing and the gardens are kept in tip top condition. The food especially the breakfast was just beautiful. Very helpful staff. We would definitely stay here again. Thank you for a great break away.
