  did the 4x4 tour with charlie (and a boat ride from krystle & brent), it was an absolutely breathtaking experience. we had a bit of weather to deal with (fog, impacting potential views) so krystle worked to push back our start time accordingly. we eventually got on the boat and then the 4x4. we had a little one with us, and it was a bumpy but comfortable ride, and felt very safe all the way through. great background and stories about the area from charlie, and at the top we had amazing views and a great picnic. he made us feel very comfortable and it was very lighthearted and conversational, overall. genuinely a great experience that i would recommend for all everyone regardless of what kind of group you’re traveling with. great people and a great product/service.

  4x4 Explorer - best views - best guide :) We did the 4x4 Explorer last weekend. We were greeted by our guide Charlie, who was such a lovely guy and extremely knowledgeable about the station we visited, and the surrounding area. After a beautiful boat trip, we arrived at the stunning high country station, where only 4x4 Explorer had access. So we didn't see anyone else, which was so nice! The views were to die for - see the pics below. The picnic on the mountain was yummy; beautiful local wines, cheese platter, local fruit and some sweets. A highly recommended activity to see the best of the area from a stunning spot!

  Fabulous few hours visiting a fascinating island. Very knowledgeable boat 'captain' not only with regard to the trip but also the geological history of the area. Highly recommended.

  My family and I had the pleasure of a fantastic trip to Mou Waho island last week. We had a range of ages (2-77years) with a range of physical ability, and whilst the walk was a steep gradient up we all managed to reach the lake with enough time to enjoy the beauty. Brent our captain was knowledgeable and friendly, the weka even friendlier! As a local I will be recommending this trip to all our future visitors. Thanks Wanaka Water Taxis, we all had big smiles on our faces after such a great experience!!

  Must do while in Wanaka! Great value! My friend and I went on a 3hr trip to Mou Waho Island. Brent told some great stories along the way (with stops) and then we had 1hr 40 mins on this beautiful preditor-free island to explore. There are several interpretration panels on the island, which provides good info. It was nice to be able to explore on your own - the island on an island and the cute friendly weka. Highly recommend this trip as a the best value option!
