  We often travel through Taupo throughout the year, my reason for one star review, is that we have grown tired of everytime we stop here at Z Taupo we have found the public toilets in such a disgusting state. The condition and lack of cleanliness was totally unacceptable. As soon as you enter the hallway from the petrol station, you can immediately smell a powerful stench of URINE. Not ONE, but ALL toilets were in an unacceptable, unhealthy level of uncleanliness. Toilet paper was all over the floor, some even used. We refused to use these toilets and travelled further into Taupo to find a hygenic toilet for me and my family to be able to use. However, to make it worse, I patiently lined up - to bring the state of Z's Petrol toilets to the Petrol Attendants/Staff's attention. They just smiled and said that the cleaner couldn't be here today. Another excuse was that they didn't have the key. Key for what? The toilets were dirty and disgusting. What has a key got to do with anything? They just laughed and acted as if the sign in the toilet did not exist. Which says, "If toilet is not clean, notify staff"! They were two Indian guys and they did not care for our complaint. 😠 They just laughed and did nothing about it. I have receipts of each visit and will be contacting Z Gas Station Management as soon as I have finished this review.
