Very clean and tidy, friendly staff and delicious food. Really impressed that everything on their menu can be made vegetarian or vegan on request. Also liked that they used biodegradable packaging instead of plastic.

Probably about the worst Nachos I've ever tasted. The best word I could use to describe would be: Unfortunate. Upon entering the shop everything looks clean and fresh, a rather welcoming shop. The food however was very bland, for example the most flavorful part of my meal was the sour cream. If you're a fan of Mexican food, I would avoid this establishment.

Walking about Auckland, the girlfriend and I had a craving for something spicy, filling, and at least semi-authentic. We chose Zambrero hoping to find the perfect food - or at least a great burrito. We were pretty far off, unfortunately. This overpriced wrap (daresay I shan't defile the good name of burritos with this sad attempt) featured tasteless goopy beans, an under-seasoned spoonful of shredded beef and 90% cardboard-tasting Uncle Ben's instant rice. Somehow the pickled jalapenos became the crown jewel of the whole meal simply because they had some level of taste. The only saving grace of the meal was some sort of garlic aioli sauce that, although has no place on a typical burrito, added some taste to the rice, making it bearable when very hungry. On another positive note, the restaurant offers an extra scoop of beans for their vegan option. Unfortunately they regret to mention that the scoop is a teaspoon because my girlfriend had the same awful proportion of beans to rice as me. I have had some excellent burritos from restaurant chains, but Zambrero has truly set a new low. Writing this review, my stomach is turning thinking of a rice filled pita covered in garlic sauce. There are some excellent restaurants and stands along Elliott street, so I would strongly recommend sticking to them.
