  I went to Manuakau carpet court to select some flooring material last week, at 4:45 pm. The shop assistant didn't offer me any information other than "we are closing soon". In fact, when it got closer to 5pm, she started giving us warnings such as "we are closing in 8 minutes", then "we are closing in 5 minutes", and eventually "we are closing in 1 minute". However, it's advised here on Google that the shop doesn't close till 5:30pm. We are new to home renovations, and later found out we selected the wrong flooring due to 1). time pressure and 2). the shop assistant didn't offer much help. I understand that the standard customer services goes as: the customer asks questions and the shop assistant answers. However, in the case that the customer may not know what's the right questions to ask, it's the HUMAN shop assistant's job to help the customer to figure out what they want. Without the human knowledge and intuition, how is modern shop assistant jobs not replaceable by computer algorithms? In fact, if carpet court wishes, he/she could even have an automatic voice broadcasting "8 minutes till closing", "5 minutes till closing" instead of paying however much to keep a person there!

  Appalling after sale service! Great before sale service, ofcourse! Returned good for refund as they mentioned that they would be happy to refund unopened flooring. After 4 months of back and forth emails and countless phone calls on my part, as they never bothered to return any of my calls, ever, I am yet to receive my refund. Discussed the issue with so many staff members who promised to resolve and still nothing. So here I am, my last resort, to finally get some action from Carpet Court Manukau!
